INTRODUCTORY COURSES

20-Something. Rabbi Yom Tov Glaser, Aish, Wednesdays at 8pm. The most effective environment in LA where Jews in their 20s can meet other Jews while enhancing their own Jewish awareness in a stimulating, supportive, and non-threatening way. Discussions on everyday life issues with a Jewish perspective. A way-cool educational bar without alcohol. Cost: $5/class.

Clarity. Rabbi Dov Heller, Aish, 3rd and 4th Tues of each month. A two-part seminar subtitled "the Jewish way to achieve excellence in living." This course is built around five key questions that are essential to comtemplate, if one wants to be sure that his or her life is moving on a course towards excellence. Numerous practical tools are offered to put these concepts into practice. Cost: $36 pre-registration/ $40 at the door per seminar. Becoming Whole. Rabbi Dov Heller, 2-part series beginning 1st Tues of each month, 7:30pm. A new seminar on Dating Effectiveness for those people who want to meet and keep a life partner. Cost: $36 pre-registration/ $40 at the door per seminar.

The Bart Stern Shabbos Experience. In honor of a man known for his hospitaity, the Aish community opens its collective home to over 200 singles in their 30s once a month for a beautiful Shabbos meal and late night gathering. There is a waiting list for this monthly program. Cost: none.

Introduction to Judaism. Dr. Manny Saltiel, Aish, Thur 7:30-8:45pm, Aish Annex, 9106 W. Pico. A series of six classes touching on some of the most fundamental aspects of Jewish belief and practice, including the holidays, the Sabbath, free choice, pleasure, dating and marriage, Jewish history, and the Oral Law. Jewish Wisdom Made User- Friendly. Mr. Marc Firestone, Aish, Tuesdays at 8pm. Taught at a private home. Lively class held in an intimate living room setting. Two practical take-home points to making life more lovable are discussed each week. Dynamic interaction with time for plenty of questions. Cost: one good question. Crash Course in Jewish History. Rabbi Yaacov Deyo, Aish. 3rd Sun of each month, 10am. A fun look at the twists and turns of Jewish destiny and the treks of Jews throughout our 3300 year experience, presented at an average speed of 1100 years per hour with full electronic visuals, a really neat handout, and Starbucks coffee!

Holiday Primers. Rabbi Yaakov Deyo, Aish, Mon 8pm preceding each holiday. An eminently practical and down home guide to observing the holidays well. Presented with sources and demonstrations, wit, and spirituality. Cost: none.

Discovery Seminar. An Everyman’s Search for G-d. ?" First weekend of each month (Fri evening, Sat, Sun). The #1 educational seminar in the Jewish world today, Discovery has been experienced by 75,000 people in 23 countries! Discovery uses the most modern scientific methods and computer technology to explore the rational basis for belief in Judaism, answering the question "Why be Jewish. Cost: $100 (including meals).

The Art of Jewish Marriage. Mrs. Emuna Braverman, Aish. 4-week seminar for newly married couples. In this practical series, you’ll learn more than the Venus and Mars stuff. You will see what has kept Jewish marriages and families strong, loving, and beautiful through the ages.

World Perfect. The Jewish Contribution to Civilization. Rabbi Yaacov Deyo, Aish, 2nd Tues of each month at 8pm. In this seminar, catch a glimpse of what the world might have been like if not for the Jews, and what it could be like because of the Jews. Great source sheets and fine teas fill out the experience. Cost: $10.

Why the Jews? A Shocking Explanation of the World’s Longest Hatred. Rabbi Yaacov Deyo, Aish, 2nd Thurs of each month, 7:30pm. This evening will transform the way you view yourself, your people and your history. 80% of attendees say their understanding of anti-Semitism changed significantly based on this seminar.
