As of Sukkos 2008/5769, LAJE is on hiatus.
LAJE is Los Angeles’ Largest Jewish Email List and has been an achdut project of Anshe Emes Synagogue since 2000.

59 Synagogues and other Jewish Organizations
and GROWING!
Is Your event or organization not here?
LAJE is a reciprocal mail list where each participating organization contributes its own email list to LAJE. In return, they can submit events to the full LAJE mailing list administrator for their events. Participating organizations will also be listed with links to their websites on the LAJE website.
What happens to the email addresses an organization gives LAJE?
When we receive email lists from organizations, names, addresses and phone numbers are expressly not wanted because LAJE has never and will never be used for solicitations nor given to other organizations. Since 2000, none of our participating organizations have ever complained about misuse of their email addresses. (Given over 60 organizations and over 7000 Los Angeles Jews, we at LAJE consider this no small miracle!) You can contribute your organizational email in confidence. Typically 2-3% of newly subscribed addresses immediately unsubscribe and the rest remain happy LAJE recipients. On occasion, an LAJE sponsor will send out an advertisement to the list and contribute a donation to Anshe Emes. It is rare that this will happen more than twice per month.
All Volunteer
LAJE is a volunteer effort that requires tremendous effort and time from all the e-gabbaim (the representatives of the organizations who email weekly updates of their events) and the current tireless coordinator, Rob Kershberg, who took over from founder (and present technical administrator) Aaron Gross.
Sponsorship Opportunities
Weekly sponsorship of the email is $180. For a separate advertisement mailing with a one-page jpg flyer (no attachments), targeting the Los Angeles Jewish community, $180. For 7000 recipients, this works out to less than 3 cents per recipient.LAJE reserves the right to refuse advertisement and event listings for material not suitable for an observant Jewish audience.
How to Subscribe / Unsubscribe
Visit our Subscriptions page and select the list you wish to join or leave.
How to Submit an Event
Submissions are due by the Wednesday before the event.
Events must be suitable for the entire Jewish community, meeting kashrut, tzniut, kol isha, Sabbath and Yom Tov standards.
Organizations not previously included in LAJE bulletins must be prepared to provide their email list (again, we DON’T want names, addresses or phone numbers!). It is only fair that to promote your organization’s event to others that other organizations have access to your members for their suitable events. Again, the spirit of LAJE is unity.
Summary
It has been the experience of LAJE that the healthy cross-pollination of Jews beyond their own shuls and organizations both increases attendance and encourages friendliness. The Los Angeles Jewish community has benefited from substantial growth and it is a good thing for people to enjoy the smörgåsbord of wonderful local events.
