Los Angeles Jewish Events: Chukas

(Candles 7:49pm as per Rav Moshe Feinstein, zt”l)

I spent three wonderful weeks in Paris with the family .. visiting the mishpacha of my wife.  My last Shabbos there on this trip involved the beating of the young Jewish teenager.  This happened some 30 miles or so from where I was staying .. but it was THE news story in France on Sunday and Monday following the incident.  It was interesting that it took several more days for the story to hit the USA.

Many ask me .. how’s things in France.  How does it feel on the streets now.  What about the anti-semitism there?  These are not the issues nor the feelings that Ieft with me on this trip.

On my last day there, one of my brothers-in-law and his family took me and my family out to some of the more historic and beautiful sites outside of Paris .. some two hours.  One of my nieces joined the trip with us.  As we were sight seeing, I saw she had a Sefer of Tehillim out and was saying Tehillim right there smack in the middle of one of the most beautiful visitor sites in France.  Curiously I looked at her .. and she understood that I wanted to know what she was doing.  All of the girls in her school where text messaging each other .. and each saying a different tehillim for the young man that was beaten.  Achdus.  That’s what I brought home from Paris, this time.  Again.  As I was leaving, I understood the young man came out of his coma.

Good Shabbos, Rob

The beauty of Bais Chana classes is that they are illuminated by the inner dimensions of Chassidus which enliven the soul. The Lubavitcher Rebbe encourages all Jewish women to learn Chassidus and use its light and vitality together with women’s inherent grace and sensitivity, to bring Yiddishkeit into their home and to the homes of women whom they inspire.

These programs are made possible through your generous donations and sponsorships. Donations are tax deductible.  Please send to Bais Chana P.O. Box 480770 LA, CA 90048
