Los Angeles Jewish Events: Vayechi

(Candles 4:28pm as per Rav Moshe Feinstein, zt”l)

It was an especially sweet Chanukah this year … having the privilege of being able to light the Chanukiah with my wife, son and daughter. Such a gift from Hashem. Our own miracles.

REDISCOVERING JOY: Teens speak out on the most rewarding and the most difficult parts of their lives.

We Asked … They Answered

More than 1,000 girls, ages 14-16, in 25 schools were asked what they feel are the most challenging and the most rewarding aspects of being frum, female and teen. Based on these responses, a three-part teaching module was developed by AJOP, the association for Jewish Outreach Programs.

To those interested in joining a mussar vaad with Rabbi Kelemen:

Based on the success of the current 5 Vaadim in LA, Rabbi Kelemen has agreed to start 2 new ones, if there is sufficient interest. Since this will be the absolutely last time new Vaadim can form in LA it is critical that 30-50 men and/or women sign up in order for the Vaad to commence.

To that end, we will be organizing an “OPEN HOUSE” this coming Wednesday, December 26, at 8 PM, at Aish HaTorah, for prospective members to see the 10 minute video, hear current Vaad members speak about the benefits of participation, and have their questions answered (while maintaining the confidentiality of the Vaad). RABBI KELEMEN WILL NOT BE AT THIS OPEN HOUSE.

Once we attain the sufficient number of participants for the new Vaad, Rabbi Kelemen will hold the first meeting, the earliest date for which would be perhaps in January.

Please contact Reuven Fauman at raf622@mac.com if you would like to attend.
