Event Submission Form

Purpose
The purpose of this email list is to facilitate announcements for the broad spectrum of frum organizations in Los Angeles that might otherwise go unseen.

How often do we see a flyer, too late, for a speaker we wanted to see or a shabbaton on the "other side of town" that we wanted to attend? How often are we disappointed at minimal attendance for a visiting Rabbi who ought to "pack the house"--primarily because of insufficient or belated announcements? Do we really have time to check all the websites of all the organizations, either?

Our primary aim is to provide a tool for organizations to get their message out briefly, inexpensively, and, most of all, in a TIMELY manner.

This list will only be used for "special" announcements. Regular shul and organizational events are already adequately communicated by these organizations in their monthly calendars.

No more than one short weekly message should be generated, in order not to overwhelm you with email.

Subscribing and Unsubscribing
The prefix   request.   (with the period) before the list name is necessary for these commands to work.

Subscribe to this list by sending a message to request.laje@anshe.org with the word subscribe as the body of your email.  (You can click the address above and your email message will be started for you... all you'll need to do is add the word subscribe to the body.) 

Cancel receiving this list by following the instructions at the bottom of each message or by sending a message to request.laje@anshe.org with the word unsubscribe in the body of your email.

If you were receiving messages from the list without having subscribed, your email address was made available by permission of an organization you gave it to.

Privacy
Your email will not be used for commercial purposes nor distributed to any other organization. This is entirely a volunteer effort. No demographic information (not even personal names) other than the email address are used for this list.  To date, over 16 organization comprising nearly 2000 email addresses have happily subscribed.

Why Should I Add My Organization?
Increased publicity for your events, increased traffic to your organization's website and improving the Los Angeles Jewish online community.

How Do I Send My Organization's Events to the List?
In order to maximize participation and to ensure that only events from suitable organizations are posted, the prerequisites are that

1. Your organization must submit its email list (at least 40 names not previously on the LA Jewish Events list) before announcements will be posted.

2. Fill out the form, below, by Wednesday prior to the event. Filling out the form does not guarantee that your event will be posted.

3. Announcements will usually be posted on Wednesday nights or Thursdays.

What Else Can I Do to Attract Attention to My Organization?
Consider adding your site to the Cool and Kosher Jewish Los Angeles Webring.

I am encouraged by the spirit of achdus expressed by the organizations that have already permitted their email lists to receive information about important Jewish events in our extended neighborhood.
