New Hilchos Shabbos shiur

w/Rav Summers on Shabbos afternoons – 45 minutes before the Mussar shiur (i.e. 90 minutes before Mincha) on Shabbos afternoons (for men and women) – Starts May 10th (next Shabbos) for Parsha Emor. There will be pre-made Notes for everyone for the shiur. Here are the bullet points for the 1st shiur starting next week:

· How is Shabbos like the human body?

· What is melacha and what does it have to do with the Mishkan?

· What is borer?

· Can you use use a peeler ?

· Can you use a ice tea bag?

New TUESDAY night shiur w/Rav Summers

Starting May 13th at 8:15pm (after Maariv) – A Shiur on Rabbi Greenwald’s halacha sefer “Sharrei Halacha” (about everyday Halacha)

Women’s Chumash Chavrusa Group on Wednesday evenings
Dr. Rachel Freedland is giving a women’s Chumash Chavrusa group on Wednesday nights 8-9 pm. If you are interested in learning Chumash in depth and sharing it with other women, this program is for you. We will pair up and learn Chumash Shemos pasuk by pasuk with Mefarshim. A certain level of textual skills is needed. We are however open to pairing up people of different levels depending on their wants and needs. RSVP Required. Responses & Questions Welcomed. Shloshim for the Rosh Yeshiva, HaRav HaGaon Henoch Leibowitz, ztl

Wed night May 14th – 7:30 (mincha ) at Shaarey Zedek . Following Mincha, there will be the following speakers

1- HaRav Akiva Grunblatt – Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivas Chofetz Chaim – Queens NY, 2- Rav Yakkov Kraus- Yeshivas Toras Emes (LA) and Young Israel of Hancock Park, 3- Rav Avrohom Stulberger – Dean of Valley Torah and Rosh Yeshiva of Ner Aryeh, 4- Rav Yitzchok Summers – Anshe Emes Synagogue. The entire Los Angeles community is invited to come and give kavod ha’Torah to one of our great Roshei Yeshiva and a person who effect so many people and communities- including our Los Angeles community.

Kiddish Committee New Payment Policy

The Kiddush Committee (KC) is re-introducing its payment policy:  Services are provided only after payment has been received. Unless specific arrangements are personally 
made with Mrs. Cohen or Mr. Jacobs, the KC will not provide a Kiddush or Shalosh Seudot unless payment is received three days before  the event.
