Bullet Points – Rav Summers’ Hilchos Shabbos Shiur
· What is the purpose of a blech?
· How and can you reheat foods?
· How do you or can you , “blech” a crock pot?
· Why is “state ” and “method” important for hilchos bishul?
Bullet Points for Mark Magid’s shiur – This week Haftorah Parshas Pinchas
· When HaKodesh Baruch Hu appeared to Klal Yisroel at Har Sinai, He appeared amidst fire, shofar blasts, smoke and other pyrotechnics. When He appears to Eliyahu in this week’s Haftorah, it’s a thin, small voice. Why the difference?
· When Eliyahu meets Elisha and transfers over the ‘Navuaship’ to him as the next Navi, Elisha says ‘Can I go say goodbye to my mother and father?’ Eliyahu says ‘Go – What have I done to you?’ What does he mean by the cryptic ‘What have I done to you?’
· Chazal say that Pinchas and Eliyahu are the same person. Pinchas was rewarded in the parsha for his act of zealousness, but Eliyahu’s act of zealousness was met with Hashem’s disapproval. Why the difference between Pinchas and Eliyahu who according to Chazal are the same person?
